When you see those pictures of beautifully painted models, don't get down know that with a little practice you CAN do it too.

Flames of War bunker
Hi all so i finished my flames of war bunker yesterday, and i have taken photos of each stage of the build so here it goes.
So let me know what you think. I might end up adding a bit more detail to it yet but for now its done.
I placed the bunker on a Styrofoam sheet and traced round it so i knew where it was going to go in the end. Also marked out the out line of the base.
After cutting out the base shape i sloped the edges. Then i covered the base with polyfiller to add texture and also to use as glue for the bunker.
After the filler dried i painted it with a brown. in theory i should have painted the base and the bunker separately but hay ho live and learn.
So after base coating the bunker with black i used GW fortress grey to drybrush the whole bunker.
Added home made flock to the base but leaving the front of the base a bit spare.
Leaving some of the base paint on the front showing but still covering it with pva glue when this dried gives it a wet mud type effect.
i made some barb wire by winding some wire around a paint brush handle and glued down some clump foliage to try to make a hedge.
I added some detail to the side of the bunker by gluing on some ww2 german posters i found on the internet. these posters were actually used at diffrent times during ww2.
So let me know what you think. I might end up adding a bit more detail to it yet but for now its done.

Flames of War late war germans
I decided that as im working on some flames of war terrain at the moment, i should take a few pics of some of the Germans i have got painted up so far. Unfortunately my camera isn't great so you can't quite see all the detail. On the men i have done cammo , you can kinda of see this on the last pic.

Where it all began
So welcome to the start of my blog. First of all let me tell you a little about me and the hobby.
I first started out in the wargaming hobby back in 1994 when i bought the second edition of warhammer 40k. I used to paint and play Space Marines from the starter box and a friend of mine use to play the Orks from the box. I was in to it and played often (although probably not properly) for a few years. I then felt i had grown out of the hobby and so it all disappeared.
I moved out of home with my parents and in with my now wife a few years ago and i found some of my old paint in the move and decided to get a few models just for a bit of fun to paint. I ended up picking up a high elves battalion which i mostly got painted but looking back at it as we all do quite badly. And then again it kinda of stopped i hadn't painted or looked at anything in little over a year.
Once again (starting to sound familiar) i found my models in the loft and decided to get some more so i bought a vampire counts battalion. And it started again i was back into the hobby. I found myself looking more and more often on the games workshop website at vampire counts, a few pounds later and a bit more paint i was starting to amass an army.
From there the hobby had taken hold and now just over two years later here i sit. So at the moment i have collected and have in various stages of being complete for Warhammer,
3.5k points of vampire counts,
and a battalion box set of wood elves.
For warhammer 40k,
3.2k points of Orks,
2k points of Necrons,
2k points of Daemons,
2.2k points of Chaos Space Marines.
Flames of war,
2.3k points of Germans for late war.
I have also recently bought Super Dungeon Explorer which my 7yr old daughter loves to play (and regularly beat me).
So feel free to follow along as i continue to grow my collection, possibly starting other projects and (one of my favorite things) some terrain making.
